We're each blessed with our own signature
spark 'n sway.
It's a unique mix of our divine spirits and our mortal experiences. The results are best used to inspire and influence others to live a beautiful, purposeful, faith-filled life.
My hope and mission is to share stories and insights that both invite and entice us to do good, promote faith in God and love for our brothers and sisters worldwide.
Delighted you're here.
Where I go to build my story of faith...
Nature
Beauty is All Around
Inspiration comes to me most quickly when two things are present: nature and solitude. I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and see some of the most iconic structures, art, and vistas. Nothing calms the soul or fills me with the love of a caring Father in Heaven more than nature. That can be in the wind-whipped Scottish Highlands or gazing out my kitchen window at our English bull dog charging at our less-than-impressed cat. I have to work to hold life's noise and responsibilities at bay long enough to behold and process nature.
History
Know Where You Come From
My father was a history professor with a passion for European History. I taught US History in high school. But I was always most partial to the history that was only a generation or two back, and played out by my family members. I wanted to learn about the people who's choices effect me to this day. Whatever you prefer, the study of history is a study in one's self. What meaning can be found in knowing your people, your place, your past? Pretty much all of it. Here I am trying to decide if this shutter in Edinburgh Castle was truly this color back-in-the-day. Fabulous!
Discussion
Let’s Figure it Out Together
Since I was a child, I've loved listening in on discussions of things that matter. Relationships, religion, politics, health, philosophy, and a good dose of humor helps all of it stick in the memory. It's not by chance that my living room is arranged like a comfy (smoke-free) campfire circle. Gathering with friends or family to discuss the day, the election, or the Sunday School lesson is my idea of heaven on earth. Why not learn through other's experiences and results? These conversations spark my enthusiasm and sway my heart.
